About Newbuild
Newbuild is a free, public database of presale and new-construction homes in British Columbia. We currently track 599 developments across 18 BC cities — prices, home types, floorplan sizes, completion dates, developers and addresses — so you can compare projects in one place instead of visiting dozens of developer websites.
This page last reviewed August 13, 2026.
Who's behind it

Buyer enquiries are answered personally by Jerry (Chih Chi) Huang. Jerry sells BC new construction for a living: he walks presentation centres, reads disclosure statements, and verifies pricing and incentives directly with developer sales offices. When you send an enquiry through this site, he is the person who replies, and any market commentary published here or given to journalists is his.
Alongside him, a small technical team builds and maintains the database itself — the pipelines that keep prices, availability and completion dates current, and the checks that catch a stale project before you see it.
Where the data comes from
Every project in the database is entered and reviewed by a person. The sources are developer price sheets and floorplan packages, developer and project websites, sales-office and presentation-centre confirmations, and public marketing material. Projects are re-checked on a rolling basis, and each development page shows the date its buyer-facing details last changed — not the date the page was rebuilt.
The same database powers getnewbuild.com, the paid research tool BC realtors use for their own presale work. That matters for accuracy: the data has to survive professionals checking it against price sheets every day, which is a harder test than a consumer site usually faces.
Once a month we publish the BC Presale Price Report — the September 2026 edition is current — a dated snapshot of the whole database that is frozen on publication, so a figure quoted from it can still be checked months later. It includes the method behind every number and a downloadable copy of the underlying table.
What this data is — and isn't
Being straight about the limits is part of being useful:
- Prices are asking prices, not sale prices.A “from” price is what the developer publishes for the cheapest home in the project, before options, GST or negotiation. We do not hold sold data for presales, and we never estimate what a home actually sold for.
- We do not value homes. Nothing here is an appraisal, a forecast, or advice on whether a particular home is a good investment. Those are decisions for you and your own professionals.
- Availability is not live inventory.Individual floorplans sell without notice. We track a project's status, not which specific units remain at any given minute.
- Completion dates are developer estimates. They move, sometimes by a year or more. The outside date in your purchase contract is what binds, not a marketing date.
- Always verify before you commit. The disclosure statement and the developer's current price sheet govern. Treat this site as research that saves you time, not as the final word.
How we make money
Newbuild is free to browse, with no account required and nothing behind a paywall. Two things pay for it: BC realtors subscribe to the professional version at getnewbuild.com, and buyer enquiries submitted here are answered by a licensed realtor on our team, or a partner professional who may pay us a referral fee — never at any cost to you.
Developers can also pay us for visibility: a featured spot on the home page, a higher position on a city page, or a promoted incentive. Anything a developer has paid for is labelled as such, so you always know when you are looking at one.
What money cannot buy: our “cheapest presales” pages are ordered by starting price alone, and always will be. And no payment changes a project's record — the prices, status and completion dates you see are what the developer published, whether or not that developer has paid us for anything.
Corrections
If something here is wrong — a price that has moved, a project that has sold out, a completion date that has shifted — tell us and we will check it against the developer and fix it. Corrections are made to the record itself, which updates the date shown on the affected page. Send us the correction, or email info@getnewbuild.com.
For journalists and researchers
Jerry is available to comment on the BC presale and new-construction market, and can speak to what our data shows about starting prices, launches, completion timing and inventory. He is a licensed REALTOR® — not an economist, mortgage professional or lawyer — and will say so rather than answer outside that.
The BC Presale Price Report is published monthly, states its method, and is frozen on publication so figures stay verifiable after a story runs. It includes a machine-readable copy of the city-by-city table. You are welcome to cite it with attribution to Newbuild and a link to the report.

Newbuild is a research tool, not an offering for sale. Information is collected from developer and public sources and is provided for research only; it may change without notice and is not warranted for accuracy or completeness. This is not an offer to sell or a solicitation to buy, and nothing here constitutes real estate, legal, tax or financial advice.
