Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 22, 2026
Newbuild ("we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use viewnewbuild.com (the "Site"), a free resource for browsing presale and new-construction developments in British Columbia, Canada.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
The Site does not require an account. The only personal information we collect is what you choose to submit through our contact and enquiry forms:
- Contact details: your name, email address, and phone number if you provide it
- Your message: the questions or preferences you share, including which developments you are interested in
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
To understand how the Site is used and to measure interest in developments, we operate our own first-party, privacy-preserving analytics alongside third-party tools such as Google Analytics. We collect:
- Usage data: pages and developments viewed, searches and filters used, galleries opened, and links clicked
- Anonymous identifiers: a random visitor identifier stored in your browser (so we can recognise a repeat visit) and a session identifier. These are not linked to your name, email, or phone number.
- Approximate location: a general region and city estimated from your internet connection. We do not store your full IP address — it is converted into a rotating, one-way code used only to count unique visitors.
- Device data: browser type, device category (mobile/desktop), language, screen size, access times, and the website that referred you
This automatically-collected information is anonymous and is not used to identify you personally. If you prefer not to be included in our first-party analytics, you can opt out at any time by setting vnb_no_track to 1in your browser's local storage, or by using your browser's tracking-protection features.
1.3 Advertising Pixels
We use the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) so that we can show our own ads to people who have already visited this Site. It records that a browser viewed a page here, and lets Meta match that browser to a Meta account it already recognises. We do not send Meta your name, email, phone number, or which specific developments you saved or enquired about.
The same vnb_no_trackopt-out described above also stops the advertising pixel from loading at all. You can additionally control how your data is used for ads in your Meta account settings, or block the pixel with your browser's tracking-protection features.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Responding to you: to answer your questions about developments and connect you with a licensed real estate professional
- Site operation: to run, maintain, and improve the Site
- Legal compliance: to comply with applicable laws and regulations
3. How We Share Your Information
Beyond the sharing described in this section, we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these limited circumstances:
- Licensed real estate professionals: enquiries submitted through the Site are shared with a real estate professional licensed in British Columbia so they can respond to you — today that is the realtor on our team, and in the future it may also include partner professionals, who may compensate us for the referral. Any such compensation never changes the price you pay or the service you receive. That is the purpose of the form, and it is stated where you submit it.
- Aggregated, de-identified insights: we may compile the automatically-collected usage data described in Section 1.2 into aggregated, anonymised statistics and market insights (for example, how many people viewed a development, or which areas and home types are most in demand) and share or sell these to property developers, industry partners, and others. These insights are grouped and de-identified — they do not include your name, contact details, or any information that identifies you personally.
- Service providers: trusted third parties who help us operate the Site (hosting, email delivery), under confidentiality obligations
- Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the safety of others
- Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
4. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (SSL/TLS), encryption of data at rest, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain enquiry information only as long as needed to respond to you and maintain the relationship you have requested. You may ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below.
6. Your Rights
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and British Columbia's PIPA), you may:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your information, subject to legal obligations
- Withdraw consent for uses of your information
- Complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia
7. Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party websites, including developer websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites and encourage you to review their policies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
